Privacy Policy
Aetheris - The Living Dashboard · Last updated: February 2026
Summary: Aetheris does NOT collect, transmit, or share any personal data. All your data stays on your device, always.
1. What Data We Access
Aetheris requests the following Chrome permissions to provide its features:
- storage — To save your settings, tasks, notes, and Pomodoro progress locally on your device using Chrome's built-in storage API. This data never leaves your browser.
- topSites — To display your most-visited websites in the Speed Dial widget. This data is read-only, never stored externally, and never transmitted anywhere.
- notifications — To alert you when a Pomodoro focus session or break ends. Notifications are generated locally and do not involve any external servers.
2. What Data We Store
All data is stored locally on your device using Chrome's chrome.storage.local API:
- Your display name (if you choose to set one)
- Extension settings (theme, colors, time format, widget positions)
- Your task/todo list
- Your quick notes text
- Pomodoro timer session count and state
We do not store any browsing history, passwords, cookies, or personally identifiable information beyond what you explicitly enter (like your display name).
3. What Data We Collect
None. Aetheris has zero analytics, zero tracking, zero telemetry, and zero data collection. We do not use Google Analytics, Mixpanel, Sentry, or any third-party service. There are no external API calls except for loading website favicons (see section 5).
4. What Data We Share
None. Your data is never transmitted, sold, shared, or made accessible to any third party. There is no server, no backend, no cloud. Everything is 100% local.
5. External Requests
Aetheris makes one type of external request:
- Favicon loading: The Speed Dial widget loads website favicons (small icons) from
google.com/s2/favicons to display icons for your top-visited sites. This is a standard Google service. No personal information is sent — only the website domain.
6. Data Security
Since all data is stored locally in your browser using Chrome's built-in APIs, it benefits from Chrome's own security protections. You can clear all Aetheris data at any time by:
- Using the "Reset to Defaults" button in Aetheris settings
- Uninstalling the extension (which removes all stored data)
- Using the "Export Backup" feature to save your data, then clearing it
7. Children's Privacy
Aetheris does not knowingly collect information from children under 13. The extension does not collect information from anyone of any age.
8. Changes to This Policy
If we ever update this privacy policy, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top. Since Aetheris collects no data, significant changes are unlikely.
